It has been a long time coming, but I have finally ventured out and made the decision to return to the leisure travel industry full time – and what good timing I chose! The decision at the end of 2019 to take a year off to study Travel & Tourism came easy, but who knew what 2020 was to bring? The year started off well but half way through the course when a pandemic took hold, lecturers had to work hard to keep up our faith. It was only towards the end of the year that we were given a glimmer of hope in the form of a vaccine that would stop the virus from spreading further.
2021 still promises to be difficult, but I look forward to the day when our international borders open again and we can spread our wings and continue to live, learn and grow through our adventures. In the meantime, Australia has so much to offer and this is a fantastic time to explore our own back yards. We must not forget that for those living outside of Australia, we ARE the international destination so we should treat ourselves to holidays in this great country just as often as we treat ourselves to overseas holidays.
